Here’s a simplified recipe for delicious and quick homemade easy Naan:

What You Need:
The ingredients and the tools are simple:
- water
- yeast
- flour
- salt
- large bowl or container
- dough hook or wooden spoon
The steps to prepare this recipe are also pretty simple:
- Combine the water and yeast and allow to proof for a few minutes.
- Add the flour and salt to the water and yeast.
- Mix all the ingredients together until flour is combined.
- Cover the container and let the dough rise for 2 hours.
- Either use the dough right away or refrigerate for up to about 7 days.
- If refrigerated, remove dough from the fridge and allow to sit for about 10 minutes.
- Preheat a skillet or a cast-iron pan over medium-high heat on the stovetop.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls, roughly the size of a golf ball. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each ball into an oval or round shape, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Place one rolled naan onto the preheated skillet and cook it for about 1-2 minutes on each side until bubbles form on the surface and it develops golden brown spots.
- Once the naan is cooked, remove it from the pan and immediately brush the top with melted butter. This step adds a delicious flavor and keeps the naan soft.
- Continue rolling and cooking the remaining naan balls using the same process.
Some of the things that I do that work for our family include:
- Prepare all of the naan and add each finished one to a preheated 200 degree oven to keep them warm.
- Add chopped fresh garlic and fresh cilantro as you finish each one.
Serve the warm and freshly made naan with your favorite Indian dishes, curries, or simply enjoy it with some dipping sauces.
The easy naan pairs wonderfully with any meal and is sure to impress your family and friends!
With this naan recipe, you can quickly create soft and flavorful Indian flatbreads without much effort.
Enjoy the delicious taste of homemade naan with the added satisfaction of knowing you made it from scratch in your own kitchen.
Happy cooking!
